Frigitek Controller Savings
Frigitek is an innovative product that dramatically reduces the energy necessary to run commercial refrigeration units.
It utilizes the efficiency of new EC (electronically commutated motors) and the patented Frigitek controller to enhance evaporator fan motor efficiency.
How does it save money?
The cost of electricity to operate an evaporator coil with three conventional fan motors is $655.62 per year (based on .15 per kW h).
By installing EC (electronically commutated) motors, the cost to operate the fans is only $283.82.
This is a reduction of 56.7%.
However, by installing two-speed EC motors with a Frigitek EC Motor Controller, the cost to operate the fan motors is reduced to $98.94.
A reduction of 84.9%.
But fan motor savings is only part of the total picture.
The total reduction at the evaporator is 3,711.18 kWh, and since each watt used inside the refrigerated space equals 3.415 Btu of heat, there is a significant reduction in compressor run time.
Conservatively there will on average be a 20% savings at the compressor.
For this example, the total savings will be $839.99 per year with $283.32 coming directly from reduced compressor run time.
